During Milan Design Week 2023, Ultra hosted a very special — and decidedly secret — gathering: Colazione con Vista.

Each morning, in the intimate setting of Ultra’s studio in the vibrant Via Tortona district, a select group of invited guests stepped away from the city’s design-fuelled rush to enjoy a quiet, restorative pause. Like a contemporary speakeasy for ideas, the event offered a moment to slow down, connect, and share thoughts before diving back into the week’s whirlwind.

Between sips of coffee and unhurried conversations, visitors were invited to explore a selection of Ultra’s immersive works — guided by actor Giovanni Longhin (Teatro dei Gordi, Teatro Franco Parenti) through Ultra’s multiplayer virtual worlds — experiencing first-hand the intersection of performance and digital space.

Before leaving, each guest received a copy of Ultra Code, the inaugural issue of Ultra Magazine and the world’s first publication dedicated exclusively to exploring virtual worlds and immersive experiences — from VR and AR to spatial computing and the metaverse — through a cultural lens. Conceived as more than a magazine, Ultra Code was an invitation to reflect on how these emerging realities shape and challenge our understanding of art, design, and human connection.
