August 30, 2025 / Nature Launch Party
On the Lido, just steps from the shoreline, Ultra gathered at Bagno Marconi for a seaside aperitivo celebrating #Nature, the fourth issue of Ultra Magazine.
Set against the backdrop of Venice Immersive — with its constellation of films, artists, and cinematic glamour — the magazine found itself at the heart of a moment deeply connected to the world it explores. Just across the water, on the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio, Venice Immersive has been championing XR at the Venice Film Festival since 2017, becoming a vital annual meeting point for the international immersive community.
The launch of Issue 4 became an occasion not only to mark a new publication, but to bring together many of the people shaping immersive culture today — creating space for encounter, dialogue, and shared presence during one of the field’s most significant international gatherings.
Dedicated to Nature, the fourth issue also represents an important milestone for Ultra Magazine. Presented in a renewed, more immersive format, its 40 pages signal the beginning of the magazine’s international distribution journey, building on the strong foundations already established across Italy.
Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joined us for this seaside moment of exchange and celebration — an evening that marked a turning point for the magazine and reaffirmed the importance of coming together to share ideas, experiences, and visions at the intersection of culture, technology, and imagination.
Issue 4: Nature
Will it still be the sun to melt the wax of our wings?
Traditionally, nature has been understood as the very fabric of reality, the context in which life unfolds. In virtual worlds, however, it becomes something malleable: not shaped by material necessity, but by emotional and symbolic needs. We do not need trees or roofs in a digital space — yet we recreate them, because they evoke deep sensations and help us give meaning to experience.
This chapter gathers essays and reflections that sketch a plural landscape of ideas, where nature becomes a prism to examine the relationship between humanity, technology, and imagination.
